• Planning and Supervision of safe practise for all AGL maintenance work carried out at the airport AGL stands for AIR GROUND LIGHTING • Responsible for ensuring that all staff entering the airside are in possession of appropriate driving and access permits or are accompanied • Responsible for ensuring application and compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 • Ensure Safe systems of work are implemented including creating Permits to work and training staff IAW JSP 375 • Undertake activity specific Risk Assessments and produce mitigation Method Statements • Ensures delivery of assigned tasks in strict accordance with the client requirements and specifications in a timely manner • Ensuring the appropriate QA/QC and technical documentation is applied to and enforced on the various assigned tasks • Develop, implement and tailor a Planned Maintenance schedule (MOD Spec 5 Schedule B&C) • Responsible for ensuring that all scheduled and reactive AGL maintenance at KAF, including routine maintenance and corrective repair is carried out to the appropriate SOPs by suitably qualified staff and in accordance with COMKAF airfield procedures • Arranging for clearance and providing close supervision of any maintenance or repair task on the AGL mounted outside of the inner wire • Providing guidance on codes of practice, BS EN standards and best practice • Ordering and correctly identifying AGL materials to enable procurement via the Logistic & Procurement SRS system • Support Airfield Manager to deliver service across the airfield as required. • Other duties as directed within relevant discipline


• Recognised AGL certification and have 5+ years experience in this field • Supervisory experience of at least 10 staff. • Good English to minimum standard 3333 iaw Stanag 6001 • Knowledge and practical experience of airfield operations and services • IEE 17TH Edition wiring regulation • 2391 in Inspection, Testing and Certification of electrical engineers. • A previous record of developing solutions which meet or exceed customer expectations • Competent user of standard Microsoft Office applications including Word for writing up reports Preferred: • Be familiar with NATO, ICAO and ISO terminology • Qualified to a minimum of HNC/HND equivalent in Electrical Engineering • Qualified AP Electrical systems • Experience of working on operations in austere remote sites or in developing nations • Familiar with or have experience of US airfield regulations
