Position: Media, Communication & Marketing Manager JOB PURPOSE The main focus of this position is to develop a strategic and tactical marketing, communication and media relations plan that will raise the profile of 20 th World Petroleum Congress and secure awareness of the event dates internationally to a wide number of executives and decision makers involved in the petroleum industry. The event will be showcased as the “Olympic game” or the “Davos” equivalent of the Petroleum industry. It will build momentum and anticipation for the project, culminating in global coverage of the event, ultimately raising the profile of Qatar , its petroleum industry and the key stakeholders behind the success of the 20th World Petroleum Congress. MARKETING & COMMUNICATION PLAN * Coordinate and agree strategy and activities with relevant committee; * Develop comprehensive marketing and communication plans; * Develop issues management strategy; * Liaise with event official spokespersons for interviews; * Supervise content and copy editing through approved channels of communications; * Ensure quality control for all print and electronic marketing and promotional materials; * Supervise strategy with large media stakeholders including local general press and media, international TV broadcasters and business magazines; * Supervise and coordinate all branding requirements and applications; * Appoint communication agency to produce promotional videos; * Plan and manage pre-event press conferences in Qatar ; * Coordinate and arrange meetings between organizing committee and key stakeholders; * Supervise and coordinate marketing and communication activities at trade events; * Supervise the use of social media marketing. APPOINT AND MANAGE PR AGENCY FOR MEDIA SERVICES TO: * Develop a comprehensive media plan, breaking down activity on a week-by-week basis; * Compile targeted media lists that will include local and international editors, reporters and columnists  Assist committee to develop and secure radio and TV broadcast partnerships with QTV, CNBC Arabiya and Al Jazeera as well as regional and global information network such as CNN International, Blomsberg, BBC World, Euronews, TV5; * Assist committee to ensure maximum coverage and partnerships with local, regional and global newspapers and business magazines; * Write and distribute press material and regular press releases (Monthly pre-event and daily on site); * Work with relevant spokespeople from Organizing Committee; * Coordinate Press and Media accreditation process; * Plan and manage logistics for the onsite Media and Press Center and on site media tour; * Plan and manage on site daily press conferences; * Set up a dedicated RSVP line and email address, both of which will be available for media inquiries; * Invite and manage local press to all press conferences organized in Doha ; * Development of a press kit with event profile, key bios, program details, photos, fact sheets and press releases. All materials will consistently reflect key goals and messages; * Keep new materials posted to the website often so as to encourage high site traffic and ongoing interest; * Coordinate distribution of advertising materials to key media partners (not required for Oil & Gas media); * Work with committee to ensure that all stock footage, both video and photography, are up-to-date and appropriate to distribute to local and international media; * Coordinate ‘Exclusive’ one-on-one interviews with the designated spokes persons; * Staff on hand to coordinate all travel requirements of visiting journalists; * Media monitoring; * All communications to be developed in Arabic and English. KEY RESULT AREAS * Help deliver a world class and successful awareness campaign and maximise on site media coverage up to ensure that this congress will get more coverage than any previous WPC. OPERATING ENVIRONMENT, FRAMEWORK & BOUNDARIES * Accept to relocate full time during working hours to QP Headquarter offices; * Flexibility may be required with office working hours to adjust to the client requirements. COMMUNICATIONS AND WORKING RELATIONSHIPS * Manage a team of up to 2 or 3 staff; * Possess leadership competencies capable of developing confidence among staff and colleagues and which demonstrates a good example of effective professional and ethical behaviour; * Comfortable with teamwork approach and managing committees; * Capable of adapting appropriate managements styles to manage committees, staff and volunteers; * Energetic and enthusiastic; * Excellent face to face presentation skills. PROBLEM SOLVING & COMPLEXITY * Ability to manage complexities involved in a number of stakeholders and suppliers; * Organised and disciplined approach.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE * Minimum 3 years experience in event marketing; * Experience in managing PR agencies for international campaign ( Middle East experience an advantage); * Time management skills and the ability to prioritize projects and process multiple tasks as required; * Highly developed interpersonal skills – managing the implementation of objectives in a complex environment; * Excellent verbal and written communication skills; * Suitable IT skills; * Appropriate and relevant management skills for engaging with staff and volunteers; * Ability to develop clear and up to date procedural and information disseminating documentation. REMUNERATION PACKAGE * Basic Salary: QR 15,000.
