The IP Routing & Transport Business Line (IPRT BL) develops, markets and supplies routing and transport solutions to meet the demand of a fully converged networking landscape evolving towards unicast video, cloud-based services and massive traffic growth. The IP Routing & Transport Regional Business Center in EMEA (IPRT RBC) is the representative of the IPRT BL within the EMEA region. The IP Sales Engineering team is part of the IPRT RBC. The IP Sales Engineer partners with the sales team to drive the product offering and solutions for her/his assigned accounts: Works in tandem with the account manager to set the overall sales strategy and tunes the IPRT value proposition to the specific customer needs. Has expert knowledge of the customer network technology Influences and impacts customer’s buying decision. Works with customer’s engineers to gain advanced insight into future network architectural changes. Uses customer relationships to influence content of RFP’s pro-actively Presents and discusses with the customer the proposed solutions, both during the prospect phases and the negotiation phases. Provides pre-sales technical support and technical expertise to solve customer’s business issues. Analyzes, designs and elaborates system solutions. Conducts technical presentations for customers at all levels Provides design guidelines for optimal usage of the solutions and provides regular roadmap updates towards the customer, manages customer requirements, new product introduction and feeds demand planning with data of upcoming projects Has a deep knowledge of the competitive environment, both technically and commercially. Uses this information actively to define a mid to long term strategy for her/his assigned accounts Acts as a trusted advisor to both the customer and his peers within Alcatel-Lucent Accountable for orders and margin. Qualifications: Deep understanding of the telecommunication market, both from an operator as from a competitive vendor perspective Expert knowledge in the IP domain, preferably supported by several certifications (e.g. CCIE, CCIP, CCNA,…) Embraces a culture of openness, team work, positive energy, ownership and consistently delivering results Ability to work effectively across cultures, languages, time-zones, in a remote management set-up (distributed organization) Ability to accommodate the travel requirements of the position Minimum of seven years of experience in telecommunications industry, mainly in an IP specific pre-sales environment Master degree in a technical and/or business stream Excellent written and oral communication /presentation skills in English and another (local) language Strong facilitation and moderation skills Demonstrates capacity and eagerness to learn
