Vacancy Details We are seeking a Manufacturing Special Process Technician to supervise and help continue the development of our Treatments facility which currently covers chemical surface, heat treatment, NDT and painting processes. The activities are naturally subject to on-going changes related to Environmental, Health & Safety and Quality requirements. We are looking to recruit an experienced individual with a proven track record within the aerospace metal treatments industry. The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include: • Supervision, development and training of the staff within the Treatments facility. • Management of the chemical analysis, pyrometry and process control testing. • Development and maintenance of the processes to ensure compliance with health and safety, environmental and quality requirements. • Controlling, monitoring and reporting of waste effluent and emissions. • Timely processing of the jobs that flow through the facility, in line with customer dates and department KPI’s. • Continuous Improvement activities linked to the department’s Lean programme, including compliance with our 5S policy. • Input to the development of proposals for updating the Treatment facility and equipment.
The successful candidate will ideally have: • An ‘A‘ level, or equivalent, in chemistry or material science. • Level 2 PCN or NAS 410 Dye Penetrant Inspection approval would be an advantage but not essential • Experience with NADCAP Special Processes and audits. • I.T. skills with the ability to use MS Access and Excel to an intermediate level. • A working knowledge of SPC tools. • Previous supervisory and hands-on experience within a metal treatments environment.
