Description Key Responsibility Responsible for the on-going development of a suite of B2B and B2C web-portals and management information systems to support the Company’s telematics service platform, to meet the requirements of the insurance, fleet, and roadside assistance industries. Roles and Responsibilities Responsible for the development and ongoing improvement of the web portal providing feedback and analysis to the Company’s clients and their end users. Assist in further developing an increasing range of services to the customers, including educational feedback, GPS based services and offers, and communication between the customer and the insurer. Further developing the extensive reporting suite to provide a range of reports and analysis, required for insurers to assist their portfolio management and pricing analysis resulting from the collection of telematics data. Development and integration of graphical representation of application functionality, journey identification, customer feedback and corporate branding. Responsible for projects designed to improve and extend portal and the management information platform. Experience Required Proven track record of ability to quickly adapt to new and cutting edge technology. Degree or above (or equivalent) qualification in Computer Science or a related subject. Experience with: OO principles and best practices Ruby Rails HTML / CSS W3 standards Version Control (Git) Javascript MVC RPC style services (Thrift, REST, etc.)


Desirable Unit testing with R-spec New software requirements scoping and documentation Experience with JIRA and Bamboo Knowledge of UX best practices Experience with UNIX / LINUX command line Experience with Unicorn Cucumber Working knowledge of query languages (SQL, etc.) Past experience on collaborative research (industrial or academic) projects Prior experience of developing secure applications Proven track record of development of complex applications Additional Information The Company Rapidly growing telematics service provider. Develops Smartphone apps for insurers, to collect driving data and deliver services to insurers and their customers. Specialize in the using data from Smartphones and fixed to vehicle devices to support motor insurers' pricing decisions. Data analysed is also used to provide driving feedback and educational tips to drivers across a range of factors, including speed, hard braking and acceleration and distraction. The company currently works with a major UK insurer, a global US insurer, a distributor in South Africa, and has a number of other discussions on-going in 6 new markets globally. Recently moved to our own offices in the centre of Sheffield to house a rapidly growing team that has increased in the past 12 months from 5 to 20 team members.
