Alcatel-Lucent is recruiting for Dedicated Maintenance Engineers (DMEs) to deliver technical support for customers with the Technical Support Platinum Constant Care & Proactive service offering. Alcatel-Lucent TAC DME is expected to deliver the DME role to plug a gap until a local DME is in place (recruited and trained) to be involved in the training of local DMEs and be part of the TAC 2 hour emergency restoration team. Job description and requirements: Deliver proactive services, root-cause analysis and corrective actions Drive 2 Hours service restoration for network/service outages by having intimate knowledge on the supported network(s) Interface with customer support teams, 2nd & 3rd Level Support, Field Support and Engineering teams Lead Constant Care team (2nd & 3rd Level Support associated with Customer, GWC entitlement & initiatives) in lieu of a fully trained permanent DME Provide feature, product and process training to local DMEs and Technical Support staff Provide guidance, leadership and support to TAC and CTS engineers Work on-site when/where required at short notice for periods up to 3 months in duration Build strong partnerships with customers and achieve results with customers’ trust Solve complex problems by doing detailed evaluation of the factors, imaginative and innovative troubleshooting Basic scripting experience is a definite plus Have a basic knowledge on multiple products & technologies (i.e. 7705, 7710, 7x50, 5620 SAM & with some consideration given to the 1830) in order to bring faster solution to the emergency incidents Have excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills Function effectively in ambiguous circumstances Investigate, isolate and drive problems reported by customer to a closure Perform Technical Support covering 24x7 network outage restoration


Qualifications: Bachelor or Master degree in telecommunication, information technology or engineering Minimum 5 years of related experience in support and troubleshooting of IP/MPLS networks Strong knowledge on Alcatel-Lucent Service Router family products is preferred Strong telecommunication technology knowledge in IP/MPLS area and relevant ITU standards Ability to learn effectively and quickly Customer orientation Excellent verbal and written communication skills Proficiency with computer based applications (Microsoft Office Suite, etc.) Any scripting knowledge (Bash / Perl / VBS / Java) are plus. Team player & leader with strong negotiation skills and the ability to work independently A flexible, positive and creative attitude to change Detail-oriented, well organized and multi-tasking Stress tolerant Works well in challenged environments Has a strong affinity to exceed expectations in driving towards customer excellence Preference will be given to engineers have working experience with interconnections and interactions beyond the confides of the actual IP/MPLS router environment
