Responsible for working with classroom staff and families to prepare very young children for a life of learning. Putting together lessons based on classroom observations and the assessments of individual children. Maintaining a clean, sanitary, attractive and well-organized classroom. Developing instructional games and activities. Attending staff meetings and teacher training days. Advising Head Teachers on which teaching resources to buy. Preparing a classroom before a lesson begins by laying out books, crayons and toys. Sitting next to children on the floor. Keeping an eye out for children who appear to be ill or unwell. Maintaining ongoing and open communication with parents Completing yearly performance evaluations. Preparing and arranging pre-class materials. Maintaining in good order the appearance, and décor of the classroom. Participating in school events. Submitting weekly lesson plans. Developing a well-managed, child oriented learning curriculum. Tidying up the classroom at the end of a lesson. Motivating and stimulating children's learning abilities. Updating the classroom bulletin boards with children’s artwork.
