CHIEF PROJECT ENGINEER – MECHANICAL (LSGO CONVERSION) Job Description: We are looking for a team player that can join our multicultural team with the ability to: - Take full responsibility for Mechanical Engineering and data collection required - Prepare required mechanical design calculations, drawings, material take-offs and technical specifications (Mainly systems related to fuel, water, steam and lube oil) - Perform vessel surveys required for detailed engineering on projects sold - Assist LSGO team in creation of Installation Planning Instructions and Site Quality Plan for shipyard (Mechanical part) - Participate in Design Risk Assessments and HAZOP studies (Mechanical part) - Assist LSGO team in material sourcing and vendor selection (Mechanical part) - Assist LSGO team in creation of documentation packages (Engineered documents) - Assist LSGO team in continuous product development and standardization - Act a Technical Advisor – Mechanical during installation at site for projects sold (if needed) - Participate in meetings within organization and customers as required.
Qualifications: - Must have strong understanding of ship systems (Mainly fuel, water, steam and lube oil) - Must have strong experience with AutoCad and design of piping systems and related equipment - Must have good understanding of class rules and SOLAS regulation and understand classification societies way of working - Must be design risk oriented - Must be able to work independently as an effective team member - Possess the ability to prioritise, organise and manage multiple assignments, keeping deadlines without losing focus. - Must be self motivating and contribute to a positive working environment. - Possess the ability to withstand high workload and pressure - Are willing to travel - Fluent English (Speaking, writing, reading) is required. Experience in performing vessel survey is required. - Experience with Windows XP and MS office 2007 is required. - Experience in the maritime sector is preferred. - Experience in fuel systems related to boilers and engines are preferred. - Previous experience in similar position is preferred. Education: BSc Mechanical Engineer, Marine Engineer Experience: +5 years
