Job Title: AFLS Senior Supervisor Job Code: Location: KAIA The AFLS Senior Supervisor-AIRFIELD FLIGHT LINE SUPERVISOR is responsible for the safe supervision and co-ordination of all flight line operations including the provision of follow me, marshalling, aircraft starts, parking, application of ground power, air-conditioning, air start services and towing for all Military and Civilian visiting aircraft at KAIA. They are also responsible to oversee, basic elementary maintenance tasks, which include nitrogen, oxygen and hydraulic servicing as well as garbage pickup and toilet servicing. Responsibilities will also include all initial training, periodic revalidation of training, managing the Health, Safety and Environment programme within the Transient Aircraft Servicing section, quality assurance, routine maintenance of equipment and collation of daily statistical data. Working Conditions: Working conditions in Afghanistan are arduous and includes heat and dust, frequently involving much physical exertion and exposure to the elements and aircraft related hazards. Operations will be of a 24 hour nature taking place both day and night and may include routine air travel. 2. Qualifications, Experience and Skills Essential : • Must possess a valid driving license. • Line servicing supervisory experience on heavy and light aircraft, which should include marshalling, parking and starting of aircraft using NATO marshalling signals. • Experience with most types of ground support equipment. • Experience using air conditioning units and toilet trucks an advantage • Experience with Microsoft Office programs, Word, Power Point, Excel and Outlook. • Fluent in English to a minimum level of 3333 in accordance with STANAG 6001. Preferred: • Be familiar with NATO, ICAO and ISO terminology; • Experience of working on operations in austere remote sites or in developing nations.
Core responsibilities and duties will include, but are not limited to: Overseeing and participating in all flight line operations involving visiting aircraft, both civilian and military. To provide follow me, marshalling, aircraft parking, aircraft starting, application of ground power, air-conditioning, air start services, aircraft push back and towing. Responsible for overseeing and participating with the provision of basic elementary maintenance tasks which include nitrogen, oxygen and hydraulic servicing as well as garbage pickup and toilet servicing. Ensure that communication with Base Operations (BOC), Fire Department and Control Tower is maintained at all times. Liaise with BOC and determine availability of services and review of the Movement of aircraft and parking locations to ensure ramp safety for daily traffic. Manage the in house training package for new personnel and continuous training of aircraft handling crew personnel, liaising with various agencies to ensure all staff are suitably qualified for their role Conduct daily safety briefs. Maintain all daily statistical records and ensure end of shift reports are completed. Oversee daily inspections and perform basic preventative maintenance of all Ground Support Equipment (GSE) and vehicles, including the reporting of deficiencies. Maintain documentation for aircraft handlers such as trade qualifications and experience, identification badges, ISAF ID’s and Restricted Area Badges.
