JOB PURPOSE The incumbent in this role would be required to achieve the specific sales targets set for the business unit. Manage Commercial and Sales, Marketing and Business Development aspect of the business along with Customer Relations and Marketing intelligence. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Description: * The ship building new business development and sales efforts to meet the business plan objectives; * The development and implementation of ship building estimating standards, processes and procedures to be used in the shipbuilding business to support the business plan; * Central planning and facilities utilization planning to ensure that the sales and marketing effort is synchronized with the capacities of the ship construction facilities and the development of Shipyard Development CAPEX Plan ensuring that all aspects of the development meet the overall business plan requirements; * The development of a product work breakdown structure (PWBS) that is integral to the cost control of every ship building project; * The provision of timely project control information to ensure that the project planners have adequate time and resources to provide the detail plans to production. Performance Indicator: * Meeting sales targets for the year; * Order books; * Generating new business opportunities; * Client relationship; * Accurate market forecast; * Exploring international opportunities for growth. JOB CONTEXT * Handling all commercial activities of ship building division in Fujairah and Abu Dhabi. COMMUNICATION & WORKING RELATIONSHIP Internal: * Support function heads; * Operation heads. External: * Customers; * Business partners.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS Minimum Qualification - An academic background comprised of a degree from a recognized institution in Naval Architecture, Construction Engineering, Project Management/ Economics and/ or Business. Minimum Experience - At least 15 years experience in a shipyard or heavy construction environment focused on all aspects of pre-construction Business planning, Project planning, Estimating and business development. Job Specific Skills: * Exceptional customer awareness and people skills enabling the incumbent to perform effectively in the business development and marketing aspects of the business unit; * Fully conversant in modern computer aided planning technologies and Operation Management processes. Generic Skills: * Exceptional time management skills; * Self-starter; * Strong interpersonal skills and ability to be an effective team player; * Fully cognizant of the importance of inter-departmental support; * Capacity and motivation to frequently work indeterminate hours.
