SUMMARY OF THE POSITION : As a key aide to both the IT Infrastructure and Development teams, you will help support existing SQL Server environment for SNC-Lavalin. TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Maintain and manage SQL Server Databases in a multinational environment; - Perform troubleshooting and problem solving for the SQL Server environment; - Detect and troubleshoot SQL Server related CPU, memory, I/O, disk space and other resource contention. - Participate in establishing Database Administration procedures and Standards; - Being aware of unresolved technical issues and monitoring their status; - Provide production support if required; - Participate in the development and the conception of new applications; - Reorganize database structures as needed; - Guide and oversee the database design process,as needed; - Analyze impact and perform data migrations between different SQl Server versions; - Update information about databases and servers in the global inventory application and provide reports on demand.
Qualifications: - University degree in computer science; - 1 or 2 years of general experience in database administration. Technical knowledge: - 1 or 2 years of experience in SQL Server DBA on large scale environment; - Experience in SQL ServerDatabase 2005 and 2008-R2 administration with 24/7 production environment; - SQL programming T-SQL and SQL tuning experience; - Nice to have: experience with reporting tools and with ETL tools. General knowledge: - Fast learning and a great motivation to learn; - Well organized person; - Self-motivated; - Great approach with customer and suppliers; - French/English (spoken and written); - Great sense of initiative and resourcefulness; - Will to pro-actively bring suggestions relatively to development or processes improvement, procedures, tools and documents related to exploitation network center, new or existing; - Great communicator.
