The UPS Service Technician must be of a Technical status and have a minimum of 2 years relevant post qualification experience. • BS7671 17th edition qualification. • Technician - defined as holding at least ONC Electrical / Electronic or equivalent/higher qualifications in an appropriate discipline together with relevant experience. • Experience of working with electrical systems 230v/400v 50Hz AC/DC. • Hold a valid UK/EU driving license. • Proven ability of applying good environmental practices in tasks performed including the investigation of accidents and incidents, carrying out risk assessments and risk control and complying with UK health and safety legislations. • 2 years experience of supervising small teams, with low levels of oversight/assistance. • Capable of producing written reports and recording time/materials for works. Preferred: • Experience of working on operations in austere remote sites or in developing nations. • Have prior UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) knowledge & experience. • C&G 2360 qualified or equivalent• Knowledge of the NEC 2008/2011
3. Core Responsibilities and Duties Core Responsibilities: • Deliver the scheduled maintenance and inspection of Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems. • Deliver emergency repairs to Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems. •Responsible for ensuring compliance with the Health and Safety at Works Act and implementing Safe Systems of Work. Duties: The principal duties of the UPS Service Technician will be: • Perform servicing duties as per the PMP for Chloride 80-NET UPS systems. • Initiation of ordering of materials via the Supply Stores Service. • Ensuring a good understanding of codes of practice, British Standard and good working practice are used at all times. • Any other duties as directed.
