JOB OFFER: Competitive basic salary and attractive allowances and benefits which include: -free family housing/allowance; -free annual return ticket allowance for self and family; -end of service benefit; -annual leave; -free medical care; -interest free car loan; -furniture grant; -children education assistance; -annual bonus; -location allowance, annual increments, recreational facilities, etc. JOB DESCRIPTION: Basic Function and Scope : Ensures that sufficient and reliable data on reservoir characteristics and performance is obtained and analysed so as to further describe reservoir characteristics, estimate hydrocarbons in place, forecast reservoir behavior and serve as a basis for special studies and programs designed to maximise oil recovery in assigned reservoirs. Identifies reservoirs requiring study and participates in such studies involving close liaison with other specialists on assigned team (e.g. Geologists, Petrophysicists, Petroleum Engineers) and the running of computerized simulation models to process and analyse required data. Updates reservoir and well-files and data bases and advises other team members and contractors of required tests, test intervals and test sample acquisition methods. Duties Performed: Participates in the establishment of reservoir development plans and monitors related data and tests to advise on offtake levels required to maximise oil recovery. Includes carrying out assigned reservoir studies to assist team in determining overall reservoir development program and monitoring well and reservoir behavior to respond as necessary to such changes as increased water cuts, pressure changes and flow rate anomalies. Participates in the preparation of reservoir tests and production logging requirements for new and existing wells. Includes devising well testing design such as flowing/injection period, required depth of test elements, test intervals and type and method of sample collection. Monitors test data and adherence to schedule for receiving such data from various sections and recommends additional or ad hoc tests as required for further study. Interprets test data and ensures that up-dating and maintenance of well-files and computer data base. Reviews calibrations and plotted or tabular reports submitted by other team members and ensures their input to computer data base and well-file as appropriate. Requests changes to input/output parameters and formats as appropriate to increase test data interpretation efficiency or information display effectiveness and participates in studies designed to improve well-testing interpretation methods. Carries out detailed analysis on data obtained from well and field tests in order to define well and reservoir parameters, such as reservoir permeability, pressure, formation damage and well productivity to include in new or existing reservoir optimization studies. Collects and analyses data from reservoir, log and core data and geological maps and reports to prepare overall simulation model of reservoir for future studies. Establishes hydrocarbon in place and updates periodically as a result of ongoing production depletion and test data analysis. Incorporates findings into Annual Review of Reserves and updates as necessary. Participates in adhoc and planned reservoir studies as a team member to predict well or reservoir behavior and determine optimum oil recovery methods. Includes carrying out mathematical and computerized simulations to gauge the effect and efficiency of various primary, secondary and tertiary recovery methods and provides and advises on issues such as well-positioning or perforation depths. Maintains close coordination with team members to ensure adequate coverage of study features, the proper exchange of information related to such studies and provides any information required for economic evaluation of recovery schemes or development plans. Conducts simulation studies using numerical simulation models using available software in liaison with Reservoir Specialists and Senior Engineers. Includes preparation of data input, checking results accordingly. Assists in following up on simulation studies performed by outside consultants and may supervise their performance by analyzing results and checking the performance of the models used, reviewing contractor performance and vetting invoices, as assigned. Defines requirements, supervises performance and analyses results of special tests (e.g. fluid analysis, special core analysis, etc.) as carried out by contractors’ laboratories. Controls and checks related invoices for such tests accordingly. Keeps abreast of new development in reservoir engineering. Includes attending and representing the Company in conferences, symposia, fora, society meetings and relating functions to identify new development of interest to Company. Prepares reports/papers on such functions and circulates to other parties concerned. Participates in the ongoing training and development of UAE national employees as assigned. Includes assessing employee training and development needs, preparing structured familiarization, development programs, monitoring progress and counseling employees as required. Knows the Company health, safety and environment policy, procedures, regulations and objectives as they relate to his area of responsibility. Ensures that work under his control is performed in a safe and environmentally sound manner. Conducts effective accident investigation and follow up. Implements specific safety management system program activities assigned to him. Carries out other similar or related duties such as preparing contributions to final well resumes, quarterly production forecasts, Annual Review of Reserves, etc., with necessary tables, charts, graphs, figures and appendices. Also provides information and advice to contractors carrying out tests or drilling activities, such as recommending new test procedures based on daily reports or different types and weight of mud used in drilling operations in response to operational problems.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Minimum Requirements: Bachelors Degree in Science or Engineering. 6-8 years general petroleum engineering including at least 3-5 years in reservoir engineering, including use of simulation techniques. Very good knowledge of English.
