Essential: • Experience in Scanning for energised/de-energised electrical cables and other underground services using proprietary scanning equipment and signal generators; • Familiar with HV/LV electrical systems; 50hz and 60hz of various voltages; • A minimum of 3 years Electrical experience; • Able to read and mark up Site Plans and Utility Layouts to show the location of any underground services; • Capable of working with limited supervision; • Capable of working within a team; • Capable of carrying out inspections and surveys in confined spaces, i.e. service trenches, where necessary; • NATO Secret/SC Clearance; • English language to STANAG 6001 level 3333; and • Hold a current drivers license. Preferred: • Recognised formal LV scanning qualification and/or training by LV scanning equipment manufacturer. • Familiar with safe trenching methods, service installations and back-filling techniques in accordance with particular standards and specifications; • Familiar with Safe Systems of Work ; • Familiar with Permitting Systems for Confined Spaces, Dig Permits, etc; • Knowledge of airfield operations and services would be an advantage. • Be familiar with NATO, ICAO and ISO terminology. • Experience of working on operations in austere remote sites or in developing nations.
3. Core Responsibilities and Duties • Responsible for the scanning of energised/de-energised electrical cables and other underground services. • Inspecting existing and new services in open trenches for prior to back-filling. • Marking up Site Plans to show the location of any underground services. • Attending daily meetings to meet requesters to schedule and arrange scanning activities. • Organising daily work load to meet appointments in a timely manner. • Enforcing safety standards during site visits and surveying activities. • Keeping daily records of visits and findings in accordance with QA standards. • Ensuring that all time is recorded accurately and signed off by the authorised representative. • Working alongside the Land Surveyor where necessary to provide sufficient accurate information to the CAD Department to update the Utility Drawings and Base Map. • Providing weekly report of all surveying and scanning activities. • Any other duties as directed.
