Reporting to the Plant Manager, this position will be responsible for identifying, analyzing and implementing process and profitability improvements across the global network of operations, driving delivery of improvements and project based activities aligned to lean manufacturing principles. Responsibilities: • Responsible for implementing the operational system in a consistent way over all the company global operations. • Responsible for the Identification, analysis and implementation of sometimes complex and challenging improvement projects aligned to the 10 Operational System practices and lean manufacturing principles. • Work with global operations leadership at all levels and shop floor personnel to provide education and training on the 10 Operational System Practices and lean principles to speed project implementation and ensure ongoing sustainable continuous improvement. • Align process improvement and continuous improvement activity, including 6 Sigma, with lean manufacturing principles to drive the Operational System implementation. • Create and execute a program management process for generation, prioritization and delivery of 6 Sigma, Kaizen and other improvement projects on time and to deliver the planned benefits. • Embed Operational System of the company, 6 Sigma and the principles of lean manufacturing into our global operations – to create initial step change and then sustainable continuous improvement. • Acts as an internal consultant for lean manufacturing providing technical guidance and coaching on complex projects and Value Stream Transformations. • Communicates with all the company’s global locations to develop and agree manufacturing metrics that are consistently applied and displayed across all the company’s global operations. • Works with a large level of autonomy to deliver broad objectives at each global location. Every plant is at a different level and each requires a different approach. • Lead the process of education and training of operations personnel (management and shop-floor).
Experience required: • Previous experience of lean manufacturing principles and significant process improvement and demonstrated capability to implement the theory. Previous experience leading major changes across multiple global facilities and multiple global cultures. • Six sigma leadership experience helpful but not required. In depth knowledge and experience of coaching and sustainable deployment of lean tools Education/qualifications required • Technical bachelor degree or equivalent • Six sigma training Ability to travel extensively required. Global travel will be minimum of 25%, with likely average of 50%.
