Analyzes, interprets field data and carries out studies aimed at optimization of well performance and oil/gas recoveries. Conceptually designs well completion, artificial lift, work over and stimulation programs. Performs feasibility, conceptual or optimization studies of hydrocarbon production and process systems, product export and distribution system and water disposal and flare systems. Duties Performed: Supervise, monitors and directs the implementation of rigless and/or rig operations (perforation, production logging, coil tubing, stimulation, well testing, sampling, wireline) at oil, gas and water wells. includes preparing rigless operation programs, liaising with concerned Operation and Drilling departments to obtain access to wells, overseeing work of contractors through to satisfactory completion of the program and ensuring that the Company’s safety procedures are adhered to. Reviews and checks invoices for work carried out by contractors, ensuring that charges are in accordance with agreed terms. Prepares drilling proposals and workover prognoses which include guidelines for operations to be carried out. Liaises with other team members and drilling engineers as necessary. Includes nominating workover candidates and determining sequences for workover activities bearing in mind the needs of other departments, issuing workover objectives and guidelines, preparing drilling and workover as well as other operational reports and circulates to concerned team members as required. Follows-up surface equipment performances test runs. Provides technical back-up and trouble shooting service up on request of Field Operations. Updates the status of all wells in the field. Participates in project engineering groups to ensure that design parameters are taken into account during Basic Engineering. Consults on a regular basis the applicable Engineering Codes and Standards that are used within the Company and Industry. Reviews Monthly Engineering and Project Progress Reports. Prepares well completion programs in collaboration with other team members to determine perforation intervals, stimulation and testing requirements. Includes defining standard completion for producing and injection wells (oil/gas/water). Directs standard and non-standard well site operations. Monitors well operations on daily basis with special attention to well completion and related operations. Advises on remedial action as necessary and amends program accordingly. Proposes improvements to applied procedures and technologies to improve work quality and/or to optimize cost in the areas of horizontal drilling, well stimulation, perforating techniques and coiled tubing applications. Carries out studies as needed to enhance quality, to utilize new technologies, to reduce cost and to improve the quality of gathered data. Includes participating in reviewing applied practices in primary cementation (particularly the production string), remedial cementation, and completion strings so that areas for improvement can be identifies and proposals for improvement can be made. Performs optimization and feasibility studies of oil/gas and water process systems in liaison with other team members, drilling and production engineers for upgrading existing subsurface and surface facilities and identify requirements for future facilities. Develops and performs process simulation models using proprietary software packages in order to maximize and optimize the performance efficiency and safety of new and existing process facilities. Utilizes available process and petroleum engineering software programs to carry out speedy and accurate calculations. Performs various technical and cost benefits analysis studies to enhance oil/gas recoveries. Maintains a close working relationship with field staff to ensure that the above tasks can be carried out in the most efficient manner, and to ensure that problems/tasks falling within his responsibility are quickly identifies and actioned. Keeps abreast of new development in petroleum engineering. Includes attending and representing the Company in conferences, symposia, fora, PE society meetings and related functions to identify new development of interest to Company. Prepares reports/papers on such functions and circulates to other parties concerned. Participates in the ongoing training and development of UAE national employees as assigned. Includes assessing employee training and development needs, preparing structured familiarization, development programs, monitoring progress and counseling employees as required. Knows the Company health, safety and environment policy, procedures, regulations and objectives as they relate to his area of responsibility. Ensures that work under his control is performed in a safe and environmentally sound manner. Conducts effective accident investigation and follow up. Implements specific safety management system program activities assigned to him. Carries out other similar or related duties such as conducting technical evaluations of new products, tools and equipment, preparing scope of work for third party assistance in field development and process studies, pilots and projects, assisting in the preparation of quarterly water injection distribution requirements, assisting in the preparation of technical papers for presentation to Company management and shareholders, etc.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Minimum Requirements: B.Sc. in Petroleum Engineering or related engineering discipline. 5 years Petroleum Engineering experience, including periods in drilling and production operations. Very good knowledge of English. Work Environment: 60% Air conditioned office. 40% in the field with moderate exposure to oil, dust noise and prevailing climatic conditions.
