Reporting to the Operations Director, this job is responsible for managing all activities involved in EPC projects covering the proposal and execution phases including HSE, engineering, detail design, construction supervision, contract management, inspection and quality control, participating in hiring the project management team members, compliance with regulatory requirements, coordination of subcontractors activities, managing project costs, keeping the project on schedule, interfacing with regulatory authorities, supervising plant startup, and turnover to the client. 1. Requirement Educated to degree level or equivalent in a related subject. Member of a recognized Engineering or Construction Institute or Society. Minimum 20 years of experience within the oil & gas industry, with a minimum of 10 years in a senior project managerial role. Knowledge of relevant International standards, (e.g. ISO 9000 suite, ISO 10000 suite, ISO 19011 etc). Familiarity with current HSSE and Quality Management methodology, tools and techniques. Identify problems, develop action plans, and take necessary action to manage project deliverables, budget, and schedule. Ability to provide functional strategic planning. Ability to effectively motivate, lead and support a multi-cultural team. Ability to adopt a dynamic, problem solving approach to tasks. Must comply with the Company Code of Business Conduct (COBC) and Anti-Bribery & Corruption (ABC) requirements.
Manage project scope and keep variations to a minimum. Manage project budget. Approve all subcontractor payments including review and approval of invoices in accord with contract based on feedback from the Project Control group. Supervise implementation of the project schedule to assure completion on time. Assure all construction work is completed in accord with contract requirements and specifications. Provide direction and be responsible for management of subcontract work. Establish site safety requirements and assure a safe site with no fatalities, and a comprehensive accident prevention and investigation program. Provide input and monitor the implementation of commissioning, startup, and testing programs to assure timely startup and prompt achievement of full production. Develop and maintain a risk management plan to identify and pro-actively deal with project risks. Meet with subcontractors’ higher management to assess the project progress and keep abreast of project issues. Establish and manage OCP project management team responsibilities and performance. Provide written and verbal reports on project progress and issues regularly to the Senior Management and others as required. Develop and maintain positive relations with the involved Authorities, local community and neighbors. Manage team building sessions between client, contractor and subcontractor teams.
