JOB OFFER: Competitive basic salary and attractive allowances and benefits which include: -free family housing/allowance; -free annual return ticket allowance for self and family; -end of service benefit; -annual leave; -free medical care; -interest free car loan; -furniture grant; -children education assistance; -annual bonus; -location allowance, annual increments, recreational facilities, etc. JOB DESCRIPTION: Purpose and Scope: -Provides Petrophysics advice to PDD Management and Asset Teams. -Recognized authority in his/ her specialist area of Petrophysics. -Contributes to the definition of data gathering strategies and helps implement Corporate Quality Assurance programs for log data acquisition. -Advises on corporate Log Data Base issues and IT-strategies for Petrophysics. -Carries out petrophysical reviews and provides specialist support for Asset Team studies including input to geological models and reservoir simulators. Investigates new logging tools and techniques, proposes and organizes field trials, evaluates results and recommends application of new technology as appropriate. -Advises on contract strategy and negotiating tactics during logging contract renewal. -Liaises with logging contractors to advise on methods to improve resource utilization and optimization. -Participates in Career Ladder Panel evaluations and CAMS Petrophysics Module assessments. -Carries out Technical Audits and helps ensure that lessons learned are shared across Asset Teams. Duties: • Ensure Quality Control of acquired and processed data and that log acquisition and processing techniques are adequate. Includes: - Directing/ participating in the categorization / standardization (for open hole formation evaluation) and the selection of appropriate sensors (for cased hole reservoir and well performance monitoring) for data acquisition; - Establishing and updating procedures and standard presentation for data acquisition; - Reviewing and recommending configuration of downhole tools to ensure safe operation and comprehensive / representative coverage of data across zones of interest. - Updating existing data quality control procedures and monitor their application to maintain consistent acquired data quality. - Developing procedures, quality checks and standards for digitizing all forms of petrophysical data. • Controls and directs activities related to acquisition strategy of petrophysical data. - Reviewing available data to develop and verify formation evaluation and reservoir characterization model; - Verifying / modifying existing approach / parameters to quantify uncertainties; - Recommending, justifying new data acquisition and processing. • Recommend data for reservoir and well performance monitoring, corrosion evaluation and downhole well integrity diagnosis. • Ensure effective maintenance of petrophysical data archive in various formats (digital, film, hard copies) • Supervises petrophysical data handling and processing and processing techniques on single well or multi wells basis. Includes: - Directing the development of processing models, ensuring consistency in the applied calculation parameters; and - Optimization of rock physical properties for accurate formation evaluation, reservoir characterization and reservoir’s monitoring. • Carries out technical review of new technologies and techniques. • Liaises with wireline logging contractors to enhance usage of resources in a cost effective manner. • Investigates new logging tools and techniques, proposes and organizes field trials, evaluates results and recommends application of new technology as appropriate. • Keeps abreast of technological development in the field of petrophysics. Identifies new technologies and evaluates their potential application, recommends their testing and introduction when justified. • Keeps up to date on logging contract issues and industry trends and suggests ways and means of incorporating new approaches in ADCO contracts. • Knows the Company health, safety and environmental policy, procedures, regulations and objectives as they relate to his area of responsibility, and ensures that they are effectively implemented.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Minimum Requirements: B.Sc in Petroleum Engineering or equivalent discipline with a minor or advanced courses in petrophysics, applied physics or mathematics. Over 15 years varied experience in Petrophysics, geo-sciences, drilling, reservoir and petroleum engineering.
