We are looking for an experienced sous chef to join our family business of a well established restaurant. We are offering great rates of pay, tips and free accommodation to the right candidate and a permanent working contract in the UK with 25 days paid holiday per year. the hours of work are negotiable but you are expected to work a minimum of 45 hours per week, including weekends. the restaurant is open at lunchtime and in the evening, with a break of 2 hours in between lunch and dinner service. You must have experience of working in a busy kitchen and have sound knowledge of the English cuisine. Examples: how to cook steak, how to make fish and chips, how to fillet cod, how to cook and prepare a lobster, etc. You must speak , read and write good English , to enable you to take control of the kitchen, communicate with the rest of the kitchen staff and with the front of house staff. You must be able to check the stock, to order supplies and deal with suppliers. You must be literate enough to fill in the required paperwork, such as temperature logs, health and safety sheets, etc. You must be a friendly person, who can adapt easily to a new environment and who is willing to learn new things.
