Our client, the leader in Romania’s imported spirits category, wishes to appoint a dedicated and professionally established Commercial Excellence Director. It is a regional position, with its responsibilities geographically extending to cover all PPD CEE Markets: PPD Croatia, PPD Romania and PPD Slovenia. PPD CEE has a winning presence across all of its countries, representing some of the world’s leading and most admired spirits, wines and non-alcoholic beverages. Though the role demands regular travel to other PPD CEE markets, it will be physically based in PPD Romania’s HQ in Bucharest, reporting directly to the CEE Region Director. Commercial Excellence Director The Commercial Excellence Director’s primary responsibility will be to design and influence the implementation of a winning plan that delivers commercial transformation in each market, ensuring a competitively advantaged and highly efficient Go to Market. The role will predominantly focus on 4 areas: Getting to the Right Places (Outlet Universe Understanding, Coverage Strategy, Service Levels); Doing the Right Job (Standards of Execution, Merchandising, etc.); With the Right Skills (Sales Capability Agenda); In the most Efficient Way (Optimizing Spend – Measurement and Evaluation, Cost to Serve Analyses, etc). More specifically he/she will: Develop a clearly defined strategic Route to Market plan that clearly identifies key changes required to deliver success, focusing on: Maximising our dedicated, profitable coverage; Allocating resources to profitable, growing customers and channels Measuring and rewarding distribution and rate of sale Optimise trading terms and cost to serve; and finally, Constantly assess strategy implementation status and frequently follow up with respective stakeholders (Senior Management, Country GMs); Operationalize Revenue Growth Management (pricing, promotion, mix); Execute market, channel, outlet and consumer relevant product portfolio and drive efficient assortment; Implement systems to support commercial strategy; Design commercial capability agenda in each country; Develop and implement world class tools and processes.
Qualifications: University diploma, preferably at a postgraduate level 7 years plus of commercial experience across multiple functions within the commercial organization of an FMCG environment At least 3 years’ experience in a role directly related to Route to Market design and implementation, with a proven track record of transformational change. Experience in Trade Marketing is a plus.
