Descrierea jobului - S.U.A.
Are you a talented DevOps engineer with an appetite for big challenges? The ideal candidate for this role will have experience in systems administration, maintaining large scale, mission critical services with various underlying dependencies, deployment automation, quality assurance and preferably software development. You will engage closely with architects, engineering teams, QA, and operations teams to execute data-center to AWS migrations for medium to large scale infrastructures. The Company: Jive Software is the leading provider of modern communication and collaboration solutions for business. Our products empower people and organizations to work better together, using technology that adapts to their way – not the other way. The world's best companies depend on Jive to unleash the ideas and impact of their employees, partners and customers. Job Description: We are building cloud-native replacements for legacy services on a next-generation microservice platform. We're looking for an engineer to join the team designing and implementing this platform. We are looking for more people who value solving technical challenges – system generalists who prioritize quality and sustainability in what they build. Our ideal candidate is an agile, analytical problem solver with exceptional techskills. You will be working with many layers of the stack, across a diverse set of deployments - from public cloud infrastructure to bare metal in private datacenters. We run Kubernetes and CoreOS, view the data center as our computer, and Docker as our package manager. We don’t require experience with these exact technologies, but broad experience is a plus. Our primary focus is building and running the microservices platform which is leveraged across Jive, to deliver our software as a service to customers. We strive for sustainability, and are more concerned with fitting the right tool to the job than using any particular technology. Key Responsibilities: Build solutions to problems that interrupt availability, performance, and stability in our systems, services, and products at scale. Work in conjunction with IT, engineering, and business groups to understand functionality, scalability, performance, security, and integration requirements. Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of the application, systems, database architecture, and the general application functionality used to maintain data integrity. Manage the establishment and configuration of infrastructure in an agile way by storing infrastructure as code and employing automated configuration management tools with a goal to be able to re-provision environments at any point in time. Develop and implement instrumentation for monitoring the health and availability of services including fault detection, alerting, triage, and recovery (automated and manual). Be accountable for proper backup and disaster recovery procedures. Develop, improve, and thoroughly document operational practices and procedures. Drive operational cost reductions through service optimizations and demand based auto scaling.
Required Skills and Experience: A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or other technical software degree DevOps experience with Linux. Experience with CoreOS or another container centric distribution is a plus. Experience with AWS services, such as EC2, S3, VPC, etc. Familiarity with Docker, and experience with Kubernetes is ideal. Familiar with cloud infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation. Inquisitive, able to use tools such as tcpdump, aws discovery service, wireshark to analyze traffic and identify communication flows Comfortable working OS configuration/automation technologies Production experience with configuration management tools such as Puppet, Chef, Ansible or Salt Experience writing tools in Python, Go, or similar languages Total Compensation: USD $50/hour 40 productive hours per week Eligible candidates: U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, refugees and those given asylum in the United States, and temporary residents granted amnesty.
