Do you have extensive experience in deal sourcing within a private equity firm? Are you ready to run the entire deal sourcing process for a software group interested in acquiring 20+ companies a year? The Company Based in Austin, Texas, the ESW Capital Group specifically focuses on buying, strengthening, then growing mature business software companies. ESW and its affiliated companies have been in the enterprise software space since 1988, and the group includes notable brands such as Aurea, Ignite Technologies,Trilogy, and Versata. The group has performed over 50 acquisitions since 2006 and aspires to 20+ annually. While we appear similar to many software Private Equity firms, there are key differences. Our primary focus is on acquiring a large number of smaller companies each year. We fully integrate these businesses into our ecosystem making extensive use of centralized shared services, systems, and processes. This enables huge economies of scale that these smaller businesses could never achieve on their own. We have also built our culture, systems, and processes around a global virtual workforce. Everyone from the lowest level accounting clerk to the CFO operates in this model. You will find we are one of the few companies offering high-paying jobs that are 100% remote, work from home. You never have to fight traffic to the office again and you have the freedom to choose when and where you put in your 40 hours to be most effective each week. Job Description Reporting to the Group CFO, the Director of Corporate Development will own the end-to-end deal process from sourcing through to close. You will lead a team to build a world-class database of all relevant target software companies globally both public and private. Additionally, the database will include other sources of deal flow including relevant bankers, venture and private equity funds, and large corporates that divest businesses in our target profile. You will lead another team to market regularly into this database with the goal of our group getting a look or an “at-bat” each and every single time that an enterprise software business globally with $5-$200m in revenues is for sale. Finally, you will lead a team to value, bid, and close the deals in which our group becomes interested.


Qualifications and Key Selection Criteria Education and work history/experience 5+ years experience in Private Equity Extensive experience with building target M&A databases Extensive experience marketing into M&A databases via a variety of channels (phone, email, events, etc.) Experience in valuation and M&A deal execution, specifically the integration of financial teams from acquisitions Core skills and capabilities You thrive in fast-paced and experiential learning You are fearless in making and executing decisions You are well organized, resourceful, as well as effective and efficient at marshaling multiple resources to get things done You are skilled at getting individuals, teams, and an entire organization to perform at a higher level and to embrace change Compensation is $500k/year Location: Global (remote)
