The Engineering Team Leader will oversee the activity of the assigned engineering team. He/she will be responsible for recruitment, employee development, performance management, feedback discussions and actions implementation, task assignment, prioritization and utilization of the team. The person assigned to this role will be the main communication and collaboration point with one or several Front Sales Offices and/or other Emerson Engineering Centers. The focus here will be to fully integrate the assigned Engineering team in the project execution part of the European business.The Engineering Team Leader shall maintain and develop a team that has a skill set profile aligned with the business forecast, the wider Cluj PSS Engineering team and the 5-year strategic plan, and which need to execute projects effectively and efficiently.This role can spend part of the time working on projects and/or act as technical referent within the team. PRINCIPLE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES * Maintain a focus on the relationship with one or more Front Sales Offices, in order to implement the collaboration model, built on the engagement guidelines * Work closely with the Engineering Manager and the Learning and Development Leader, in order to understand how to develop the engineering competencies * Support the Engineering Manager with communication, planning and forecasting * Ensure the good technical delivery of the projects and the implementation of the correct working methods, procedures and tools * Recruitment of engineering resources to meet the demands of the European region as defined in the Annual Budget and forecasted in S&OP process * Ensure that all engineering team resources have an appropriate technical training and development plan * Manage the language skill sets of the team in order to meet the business requirements * Ensure that all engineering team members have a Performance Excellence Plan (PEP) which is reviewed on a regular basis * Can be involved part time on projects; can coordinate a project team * Can act as a technical referent within the team * Direct responsibility for an Engineering team of 10 - 15 engineer * Direct responsibility for the capacity and capabilities of the PSS SW Engineering group * Willingness to travel in Europe. Travel is done according to agreed time schedule, as required by business.
* Degree in Computer Science, Automation or Process Engineering * Minimum of 4 years’ relevant experience in a control engineering project industry * Proficient in Romanian and English with a third European language preferred (written and spoken) * A clear and engaging communication style * 2+ years of experience in management/leadership of an Engineering team * 2+ years of experience with people management * Relevant experience with training and development * Experience in working with geographically distributed teams
