Based in Austin, Texas, the ESW Capital Group specifically focuses on buying, strengthening, then growing mature business software companies. By taking advantage of its unique operating platform, ESW revitalizes its acquisitions for sustainable success while making customer satisfaction a top priority. ESW and its affiliated companies have been in the enterprise software space since 1988, and the group includes notable brands such as Aurea, Ignite Technologies,Trilogy, and Versata. The group has performed over 50 acquisitions since 2006 and is on pace to do 20+ annually. While we appear similar to many software Private Equity firms, there are key differences. Our group background is in software operations, not financial deal-making. We do not serve as ‘board members’ for our acquisitions, but rather as the operators. This enables huge economies of scale that these smaller businesses could never achieve on their own. We have also built our culture, systems, and processes around a global virtual workforce.
