Emerson Process Management is developing a standard, centrally managed Server Environment for all its locations in Europe. This will include all back-office/application servers & storage, both in individual sites and within the European Data Centre (EDC). This operational role is key within the European Infrastructure & Security Organization supporting the Server strategy, with the following main operational responsibilities: * Provide Operational Support for all Server (Physical and Virtual), Backup and Storage Infrastructures; * Work closely with the other Infrastructure Teams (Design Team, Implementation Team, Project Management Team) to ensure Operational considerations are included in all solutions and Continual Service Improvement is maintained. Responsibilities * Working within the shift framework of the European Data Centre (EDC) & European Sites as defined within the relevant SLAs, provide 2^nd & 3^rd Level Support for European Server Infrastructure. * Ensure all new server additions to the Emerson Process Network adhere to the standard configuration. Server Administrators are responsible to bring and maintain the server installed base up to the standard level defined in the service. * Continuous respect of the Change Management Process * Help with the planning and implementation of refreshed hardware, respecting the Hardware Lifecycle process and the hardware deployment and imaging procedures. Help improve the process and procedures by providing constructive feed-back to the Design Team. Occasional on-site physical implementation when relevant. * Keep physical servers up to date with a current firmware and administration tools versions, once these utilities and versions have been validated by Design Team. * Work with the SW Licensing Team and standard server-related software/hardware vendors to ensure the maintenance of a legitimate server software environment within Europe. * Reporting and data mining will be a key task using defined reporting tools - Reporting various metrics: server uptime, storage free space, etc. as defined in relevant SLAs. * Produce and maintain up to date all server and storage operating procedures and documentation. * Security: Ensure all Tier0 software is installed/updated on all Servers in Europe and European Data Center and all Servers are respecting the Corporate Security and Patching policy; * Ensure proper data backup configuration and monitoring and on-demand or test restores, tape management included. * Manage central VMware Infrastructure permissions according to standard security and delegation model defined by European Design Team and audit them regularly. * Storage: Ensure standard configuration, monitoring and maintenance of standard storage systems (local storage, SANs, etc.) in a production environment. * Participate in Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP) tests and help maintain DRP processes to highest standards, in collaboration with Security, Design and Service Delivery Groups. * Continual Service Improvement: Collaborate and actively feed-back to the Design Team and Management in order to develop and improve server solutions and design. Where applicable propose corrective actions * Participate in the development and implementation of projects for Server, Storage and Backup system refresh in all the European sites from creating the solution to implementing it into the site with impact for the next 3-5 years. * Perform standard administration tasks on the European SharePoint Instance hosted at the EPM Data Centre. Ensuring all regular maintenance activities are performed on the instance to include but not exclusively limited to patching for SharePoint and Windows, disk maintenance, connectivity checking, monitoring of key functions within SharePoint, initially troubleshooting, service pack updates, hotfix updates to SharePoint and deployment of new SharePoint servers. * Ensure day-to-day availability of the SharePoint service is achieved through standard housekeeping tasks and to support the backup and restore tools for data held within SharePoint Europe. * Analyze system logs and trend data to plan essentials actions to ensure suitable levels of infrastructure are available to maintain a high level of service availability for European SharePoint users. * Deal with level 2 and Level 3 tickets covering potential issues with access, functionality and performance of SharePoint European instance, European and European Data Center Server Infrastructure


Candidatul ideal Requirements Specific IT Skill areas should include: * VMware ESXi, VSphere, VCenter expertise. * Microsoft Windows Server 2003/2008/2012 Administration * Basic SQL 2008/2012 Server skills (backup, restore, duplicate, scheduled maintenance) * Storage networking knowledge (Fiber channel, iSCSI, SAS). * Storage Technologies (ex: Dell Compellent, Dell Modular Disk) * Backup technologies and solutions (ex: Veeam, Netbackup, BackupExec) * Familiar with IP network skills, in particular understanding basic network in a Cisco environment. * Familiar with web services and the technology principles behind the services that are needed to provide web sites. * SharePoint 2003/2007 technologies – very advantageous but not essential as training will be provided. An effective communicator * Able to work daily with remote colleagues & service customers, through phone, email, instant messaging; * Good written communication skill * Excellent documentation & procedure writing skill Willing to travel for short periods of time on occasion Strong, demonstrable Customer focus Strong analytical capabilities and good problem solving skill Language knowledge: Fluent in English (speaking / reading / writing), other European languages an advantage (French, Spanish, Italian) Quick learner, team player with self-motivation to work in a remote support capacity Logically organized, efficient and creative with strong analytical skills Experience of a support role in a diverse multi-national environment an advantage.
