Description The Innovation and University Affairs Manager position is open in the Chassis and Safety Division in Iasi. Within Chassis & Safety Division your engineering skills can make a difference in the development of exciting new automotive products and technologies. Chassis and Safety Division in Iasi contributes to the Continental Automotive research and development effort over three main branches: • Systems and Technology where tomorrow’s Chassis and Safety products are foreseen and integrated into highly automated vehicle driving functionalities at the system level • Vehicle Dynamics Business Unit provides highly advanced braking technologies for all vehicle types, usable in vehicle ranging from small cars right to transportation vehicles. • Advanced Driver Assistance Systems is providing both sensors (from simple ultrasonic parking sensors to radars and advanced stereo or surround view cameras) and computation platforms for running safety, maneuvering and cruising functionalities. • Steering Segment, modern Electric Power Steering systems are developed, making the driving experience for the driver safer and at the same time, reducing the fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. • Passive Safety and Sensorics concentrates in Iasi in developing a state of the art active body roll stabilization system that reduces the body roll of the vehicle and enhances the lateral vehicle stability when cornering. As a Innovation Manager, Technology Scouting and research know how transfer from University to Continental in our group your responsibilities will be: • Develop the picture of the future regarding Chassis and Safety Department Innovation Strategy from Romania side • Collecting of new product ideas using specific Continental programs (e.g. - CIM, Contivation, patent submissions, email, brainstorming sessions) • Drive and moderate Innovation Workshops on specific topics using multiple creativity methods (e.g. – Brainstorming, Lateral thinking, Opera etc.) • Merge multiple concepts and ideas to create new products/functionalities • Projects tracking and monitoring activities with focus to new concepts development • Lead individuals and teams to participate in the innovation process inside Chassis and Safety division • Enhance the Chassis and Safety division that esteems and encourages innovation • • Drive sustainable trend antenna approaches for Chassis and Safety Division in cooperation with Iasi academic liaison • Technology scouting for Continental in the Moldavia area (e.g. Universities areas and industry area) • Identify opportunities for working together with Start-up’s • Coordination/involvement in/of grants/projects made by Continental in relation to local universities or other companies as being the main interface. • Involve in the development of the new technologies for Continental (e.g. Artificial Intelligence) A mentor will support you to stepwise take over own responsibility after an initial training phase which will familiarize you with our products, tools, processes and organization.
Job Requirements • PhD University degree in a relevant field (e.g. Automation and Computer science, Telecommunication, Electronics, Electrical engineering techniques, Mechatronics, Mathematics, Physics, Informatics) with focus on business engineering • Quick ¬learning and self-¬driven • Interpersonal communication skills • Good presentation skills • Basic knowledge of electronics/mechatronics • Capability to analyze and synthetize multiple technical problems or solutions related to a product • Design techniques and methods • Very good writing, reading and speaking English skills. German language knowledge would be a significant plus • Involvement in student organization or faculty organization during studies is a plus • Knowledge in project management is considered a plus
