Radiology Doctors in Sweden Description of work at the actual clinic / health center Radiology department in Gävle belongs to Image and functional medicine, Division of Diagnostics in Gävleborg. We have round-the-clock activity but we use remote examination (TMC) from 10:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. every day of the week. We have 3 pcs MR cameras (Siemens), 3 pcs DT-machines (Toshiba), 5 pcs conventional labs (including a lunglab), 1 pcs fluoroscopic lab (Siemens), 1 pcs Interventional / angiolab (Philips) and 3 pcs ultrasonic labs ( 1 pcs Philips iU22 and 2 pcs GE LOGIQ E9). As a doctor of radiology you will rotate at different sections according to your skills. You will be also in some sections in close cooperation with both radiographers and sub-nurses. We make about 90,000 examinations / year, of which 22000 pcs are DT, 6800 pcs are MR and 9200 pcs are ultrasound. About 50% of the examinations are acute and subacute. We carry out a large number of punctures with the help of ultrasound and Computer Tomography as well as fluoroscopy. We also carry out a large number of contrast ultrasound. The work also includes round-activity what implies that you are demonstrating images to clinics and / or reviewing those were written by others. The population of the catchment area Gävle municipality has about 100 000 inhabitants, the whole Gästrikland about 150 000 inhabitants, the whole county (Gävleborg) slightly less than 280 000 inhabitants. The number of employees, resident physicians, specialists, nurses and other staff 10 resident physicians, 15 specialists, 36 radiology nurses, 24 other staff Plans for the future (if the activity will be developed in any particular direction, organizational changes etc.) We have started with heart MRI. Job description and location If / when you are a specialist in radiology in Sweden, you will be employed as a specialist doctor. If you have not received your Swedish legitimation yet you will be employed as a medical assistant. Irrespectively of your position the employment begins with a probation period for 6 months, after that possibly further fixed-term employment as far as you have your specialist licence. When you finally receive this, your employment turns to be a permanent one as a specialist in radiology. Clinical experience, sorts of treatments / patients the doctor have experience with. Years of experience We prefer that you have two years of service after specialisation but the most important are your real skills. Special knowledge and skills or special interests that are important for the job We are in a need of specialist doctors. To be able to be on-call you are required to be able to make pyelostomies and standard punctures. If you can not make it, you can learn it here. We have especially big need of MRI-skilled physicians but we also need physicians with different focus. Important personal characteristics 1. Flexibility 2. The daily activities often involve patient contact with children and adults but also contact with the clinics, what requires a good attitude and ability to adapt to different people1s needs for information and communication. Other requirements in connection with the job In reality, the service includes work only in Gävle. If it is necessary to deepen your skills, you may need to go to university hospital to improve yourself for a while. This is optional. As a specialist / head-physician you will be assumed to supervise one or exceptionally two sub-doctors who spend their specialist trainings at the clinic. It requires you to undergo region Gävleborg's supervisor-training. Director of the studies takes place in the branch. The minimum salary for the first six months and the compensation for on-call work Starting salary: 46 000 SEK (4850 Eur) / month. Minimum salary after acquiring full working competence: around 62 000 SEK (6550 EUR)/month, subject to individual evaluation.
