Department: Advanced Manufacturing Engineering - Paint Facilities Engineering Advanced Manufacturing Engineering - Paint Facilities Engineering, reporting to Departmental Manager. Paint Advanced Manufacturing Engineering are responsible for introduction of new facilities, materials product lines and current vehicle freshening programs into the Paintshop Key Responsibilities Working within a team and working with various members of the wider Manufacturing & AME team, the lead Engineer will be responsible for the support and delivery of the following elements:- Successful candidate will be responsible for: • Feasibility Investigations, prototype build support, Project Planning, Facilities Engineering & modifications, Project management, Developing & maintaining master schedules, control of documentation issued by subcontract base etc………. • Successful candidate will work closely with Paint Production department and other Engineering disciplines across site to deliver programs & facility projects to cost targets and timing. • • Successful candidate will provide a Manufacturing Engineering support role to Plant personnel as a member of cross-functional teams for problem solving and continuous improvement activities with regard to Safety, Quality & Cost. • • Successful candidate will be responsible for management of facility documentation and data in line with AME procedures, supporting TS, ISO, SHARP, LQOS & FPS internal and external audits. • • Responsible for all aspects of Capital Expenditure Project tracking focusing on Product & Non product related expenditure from project conception through to delivery, commissioning & handover to the customer in line with policies & procedures utilised within the company. • • Lead multifunctional New Equipment Procurement Teams through all project phases ensuring company procurement procedures are met & adhered to. • • Will have a detailed & comprehensive knowledge of Paint Shop Process & Facilities employed to deliver a Painted Car to the correct quality standard. • Track departmental & project KPI's with C Grade engineers & Contract Engineers ready for report out to departmental manager on a weekly basis.
Skills, experience and qualifications required • Applicants should be educated to Degree level (relevant experience also considered). • Previous Project Management experience within Paint Operations. • Knowledge of Paint Robot installation projects a benefit • Highly computer literate with an excellent working knowledge of Microsoft office package including 'project' • Skilled in the manipulation of 2D & 3D Auto-CAD data. • Good working knowledge of CDM regulations. • Good working knowledge of GPDS, LQOS & implications to facility readiness time line. • Ability to control & Manage suppliers (both Material & Equipment) • Ability to control & manage project cost decks. • Have previous experience of Supplier selection and tender management. • Have a working knowledge of electrical control systems employed with automated equipment & conveyor equipment. • Have a working knowledge of the application of lean manufacturing tools and techniques. • Have the ability to work unsupervised (at times) to a set of objectives & targets. • Must be flexible with regard to working hours as role requires after hours, weekend & Shutdown working to delivering objectives & targets.
