Description Summary This position will work with Sales and production management to develop and manage forecast for long range material planning while considering current inventory, obsolescence, purchasing lead times and production capacities. The position requires a change agent with a proven track record in high mix low volume manufacturing environments. The position will have 2-4 direct reports. Primary Responsibilities include: Identify and implement systems and process improvement within the supply chain to enable the business to meet or exceed OTD, inventory and revenue Metrics. Develop forecast and supply program to improve current days of inventory and cash cycle. Analyze inventory levels and product demands to determine reorder levels and safety stock that will ensure product availability and minimize inventory cost. Apply traditional ERP experience to more hybrid ERP applications to result in practical solutions. Drive, promote and develop positive communication with Marketing and Sales to improve forecast accuracy. Develop and maintain Forecast, master schedule and procurement plan based on history and sales opportunities. Review and update forecast, production schedules and material requirements. Support new product development through the scheduling of new products, end of life and prototype with potential suppliers. Proactively review material supply and demand to determine push/pull actions appropriate to impact manufacturing MPS and supply MRP exception messages. Assess impact to materials availability and production schedule from customer sales opportunities that may be affecting demand for product over and above plan. Reduce and maintain past due orders to <$50K Evaluate current routing guides and drive efficiencies through continuous improvements. Understand plant capacities by documenting routing guides, machine and operator capabilities and with the operation to optimize. Highlight and level volume across the critical work-centers Develop, maintain and analyze output forecasting, load and backlog analysis consistent with sales orders forecast and manufacturing capabilities.
Required Skills: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain/Master Scheduling experience Minimum of 5-10 years of progressive experience. Experience with multiple site locations Demonstrate abilities to perform in a metric driven environment Experience with Planning & Inventory Control in a manufacturing environment in High mix low volume industrial manufacturing environments. Proven track record as a change agent Experience with lean principles CPSM (ISM), CPM (ISM), CPIM (APICS) or CSCP (APICS) certification(s) preferred. Must understand capacities issues in an “Engineered to Order” environment Must be a strong influencer, driven solely by data and facts. A good understanding of ERP systems (preferably IFS & SAP). Must have a valid passport; travel both international and domestic, up to 25%.
