Job Description Lead SME’s global R&D branch Software – including AMER, EMEA and APAC regions. This role is accountable for all R&D activities related to SME’s Software product portfolio of: METER DATA COLLECTION SYSTEM (MDC), MID- AND HIGH-END NETWORK MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (NMS), MID- AND HIGH-END METER DATA MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (MDM), MID-END DATA-ANALYTICS, MID- AND HIGH-END NON-CLOUD-BASED PACKAGES, LOW- TO MID-END • Manage multiple regional development teams and continuously align the team’s capacity and capabilities with the near and long-term needs of the respective regional businesses. • Support the business in planning (AOP + STRAP) for the economical creation of new products as well as enhancements to existing ones. • Collaborate with Product Management & Marketing to identify the right Software-driven enablers that support new or adjusted business models. • Continuously optimize the creation, review & adjustment of platforms such that these help to reduce project cycle times and development cost. • Improve development processes and methodologies to reach and keep world class standards in Quality and Productivity for the development Software. • Assure team’s capability to precisely predict development efforts and to execute according to prediction – and influence toward cross functional collaboration for a flawless launch of new and adjusted products (NPI & NPE). • Drive effective people practices through a robust hiring strategy, rewards & recognition, motivation & retention strategy and performance differentiation. Upgrade the skills and enhance the overall engineering capabilities to be able to accommodate the HBT & SME business growth needs. Nurture and develop core capabilities in product development and support aligned with business priorities. Role model for Honeywell values & behaviors. • Ability to mentor /Coach and lead others and develop leadership talent in a global multicultural environment by influencing the work environment as well as decisions. Required Skills & Qualifications ENGINEERING OR COMPUTER SCIENCE DEGREE WITH 15 PLUS YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN DEVELOPMENT OF COMMERCIAL SOFTWARE EXPOSURE TO MID- AND LARGE-SCALE SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT THROUGH ALL STAGES OF THE PROJECT LIFE CYCLE DEEP KNOWLEDGE IN THE CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT OF AGILE SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT EXPERIENCE AT DIRECTOR OR EQUIVALENT SENIOR LEADERSHIP LEVEL IN MANAGING LARGE, SW ENGINEERING TEAMS EXCELLENT COMMUNICATION AND LEADERSHIP SKILLS STRONG INTERPERSONAL SKILLS WITH THE ABILITY TO FACILITATE DIVERSE GROUPS, HELP NEGOTIATE PRIORITIES, AND RESOLVE CONFLICTS STRONG PROGRAM MANAGEMENT, PROCESS MANAGEMENT, TECHNOLOGY & STRATEGY SKILLS ABILITY & WILLINGNESS TO TRAVEL (~30%)
