Working alongside the research team are CTO experts in hardware and software reliability and security. Can you create groundbreaking technologies and solutions to advance the state-of-the-art in design for software reliability? The CTO software reliability team has an opening for an inventive engineer in the area of software systems reliability. Main duties and responsibilities: The successful candidate will develop and apply new capabilities to advance the state of art in design for reliability and testing, contributing to recognition of Alcatel-Lucent as a leader in network reliability: Develop new capabilities to advance the state of art in Software and Systems reliability to ensure the robustness of Alcatel-Lucent products and solutions. Identify, innovate and create the necessary techniques and tools for robustness testing of complex software and systems (including the NFV/SDN environment.) Develop intelligent test strategies based on a deep understanding of the products, their development, production, and delivery process. Architect, design and prototype test capabilities/tools, and integrate them into working lab systems. Contribute to the technical definition of research programs, project objectives and work plans. Partner/collaborate with product business lines, product/solution architects and developers in applying these advances to current and next generation products and solutions. Represent the organization on projects and take project leadership role on reliability across Alcatel-Lucent. Create and maintain strong collaborative associations with Bell Labs researchers, university-based researchers, other leading research bodies, product business units and government agencies. Promote and collaborate both internally and externally through patents, publications and industry fora.
Advanced degree (MS/PhD) in Software /System Engineering or related sciences Strong knowledge of reliability modeling, simulation methodology; expertise and experience in applying reliability modeling methods to complex problems. Excellent software development/programming skills. Knowledge and/or experience in communications networks, cloud computing, Real-Time Operating Systems, software defined networks, mobile computing, web-based services/applications Strong problem solving and analytical skills; demonstrated ability to perform high quality R&D. Excellent interpersonal communication with ability to influence at all levels of the organization; demonstrated ability to develop and maintain good relationships with area business teams. Proven strong team player. Works effectively and cooperatively with others; places team objectives and success above personal goals Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimum supervision, self-starting and proactive, and has strong organizational skills. Must be able to handle multiple assignments simultaneously, set realistic goals, and complete commitment on schedule. Proven ability to respond quickly to changing business needs.
