Evaluation and recording of patient’s conditions. -Assist in various procedures like Foley’s Catheter Insertion. -Provide bed side nursing care - Ensuring the safe administration of controlled drugs and medication. -Maintain barrier nursing techniques and prevent cross infection . -Follow medical and surgical asepsis. -Perform independent health assessments of individuals and families by evaluating their physical, mental and social and environmental health status; and provide nursing intervention based on assessment of need. -Make skilled nursing observations and assessments of client health care status by monitoring and documenting such things as vital signs, pulse, presence of edema, heart and lung auscultation, blood and urine laboratory values, intake and output, consciousness and orientation levels;
Duties included basic assistance such as helping patients bathe, dress themselves, get up and down, walk, and use wheelchairs or walkers. I had to also monitor patients conditions and assess their vital signs, noting any physical or mental decline and reporting back to the doctor. I had to administer medications and other treatments and help patients manage common age-related conditions such as incontinence, sleep disturbances or loss of mobility.
