    Officer on Reflection,
    Excepting the check-in and check-out procedures, which on a cruise ship are done when boarding and debarking, the duties of a Receptionist and a Guest Relations Officer are about the same, the difference between them being that on a cruise ship, a higher quality of service and level of professionalism is required. 
    Being the main person of contact for the guests, not only are we responsible for connecting them with the other departments, but we are also responsible for ‘Delivering the WOW’ in a manner which demonstrates exemplary problem resolution skills at all times. Outstanding hospitality, focused customer service, strong communications and organizational skills and effective decision-making abilities are mandatory when maintaining a high level of professionalism. I have been able to go above and beyond for all my guests, even when faced with new challenges or demanding situations.
    Besides ensuring that the needs of all our guests are meet, we are also responsible for their safety. This is why all crew members take part in regular emergency drills.
