• Allocate room attendants rooms that need to be cleaned using Opera system • Briefing the staff every morning regarding the special task of the day, VIP guests in house or VIP arrivals, any important things that need to be communicated to the staff related to housekeeping department • Ensure pantries and service areas are clean and tidy at all times • Ensure rooms are released in time and they are cleaned up to the standards • Ensure room attendants have all the tools they need so they can perform their job • Making checklists regarding maintenance and make sure the forms are accurate and handed back to Housekeeping Manager • Being responsible at the end of the shift regarding the invoice and other paperwork and update the status of all the rooms in the computer
• Ensure linen room is kept clean and free of debris and lint. • Ensure all chemical bottles used on open deck are labeled correctly • Ensure storage of linen/towels is on clean pallets. • Ensure circulation of linen/towels is completed on rotation, first in - first out etc. • Ensure procedure for linen bags and linen trolley separation is followed both by laundry, linen room and linen valets. • Ensure that linen trolleys are kept clean and in a good condition • Ensure that linen trolleys are used as per color code procedures ( clean and dirty ) • Ensure storage in cleaning lockers is adequate and organized. • Follow of issuance of rags as per color code procedures etc. • Follow GI procedures correctly; train Linen Valets on the correct procedures. • Ensure PPE is available at all times for use in cleaning and GI Procedures. • Being responsible for all the inventories like Chemical Inventory, Linen Inventory, Housekeeping Lockers Inventory and send the reports to Housekeeping Manager. • Being responsible for the ordering of all Housekeeping Department needs and send the order to Housekeeping Manager for approval. • Being responsible for all the Revenue Items from Housekeeping Department and send the Sales Report to Housekeeping Manager. • Ensure all Housekeeping and Laundry staff complies with company standards regarding dress and appearance (Carnival Look Book). • Have a comprehensive knowledge of all areas of the Housekeeping Department. • Oversee all aspects relating to the cleaning of the ship. • Ensure that all team members are following appropriate safety procedures with regard to equipment and chemicals at all times and comply with USPH regulations. • Ensure that all team members report for duty in a timely manner, and are issued with the relevant tools of the trade to carry out daily tasks. • Hand out all work assignments to each team member. Follow-up on tasks assigned to team members regarding job quality and efficiency. • Oversee training of new team members on assigned tasks, proper handling and use of chemicals and equipment as well as training on basic safety and Garbage Management Programs implemented by the company. • Ensure all staterooms and public areas are supervised and cleaned at all times. • Ensure that all operating inventories are accurate and timely ordering of supplies. • Responsible for reviewing and assisting performance appraisals of team members based on the company policies and guidelines. • Receive reports from the Assistant Housekeeping Managers and summarize each individual result for stateroom steward ratings. • Prompt reporting of all repairs and maintenance, as well as followed-up on repair requests. • Oversee all machinery used by the department and report any faults. • Responsible for inspecting VIP staterooms and taking care of any special requirements. • Liaise between management team, Senior Housekeeping Manager and the Housekeeping Manager. • Report/ record incidents regarding guest and crew related issues to the Housekeeping Manager.
Responsible for assisting the Assistant Manager Housekeeping II Stripes in the overall operation: service and cleanliness of staterooms. My responsibilities included, but not limited to the following: • Ensure all Housekeeping staff is complying with the company standards regarding dress and appearance (Carnival Look Book). • Brief assigned Housekeeping staff, schedule duties and tasks and ensure follow-up of all assigned tasks in a timely manner. • Compliance with Housekeeping procedures as set out in the CCL Safety Management Systems (SMS) Manual. • Compliance with USPH regulations, as set out in VSP manual. • Train new team members on assigned tasks, proper handling and use of chemicals, safety and Garbage Management programs implemented by the company. • Ensure that team members have all necessary cleaning equipment. • Ensure that team members are compliant with safety regulations. • Responsible for organization, inspection and maintenance of the Housekeeping lockers. • Responsible for writing the daily work orders and follow-up. • Plan, organize, develop and motivate team members. • Ensure the follow-up of all jobs assigned to team members, including job quality and productivity. • Ensure that all paperwork assigned to this position is completed and submitted in a timely manner to the Assistant Housekeeping Manager II Stripes. • Contribute to management meetings when required and communicate fully with the management team. • Perform other duties as may be necessary and directed by the Senior Assistant Housekeeping Manager or Assistant Housekeeping Manager II Stripes
