• Maintain, repair and overhaul a variety of mechanical equipment. • Maintain, remove, repair, overhaul, install and tune engines. • Maintain, repair, overhaul, adjust, install and calibrate necessary vehicle fuel systems. • Maintain, repair, overhaul and adjust vehicle brake systems, vehicle cooling systems, vehicle chassis, wheel, suspension, and articulated bus suspension systems. • Operate shop equipment and machine tools. • Troubleshoot equipment problems. • Complete forms and keep records on work performed and time and parts used. • Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Installed, disassembled, cleaned, repaired, replaced parts, reassembled and tested a variety of drive train equipment. - Performed major and minor motor tune-up, inserted points, cleaned and replaced spark plugs. - Overhauled and adjusted carburetors and lights. - Participated in the complete overhaul of gasoline and diesel engines. - Installed and adjusted brake linings. - Replaced parts of entire electrical systems, replaced bulbs and fuses. - Changed and repaired tires. - Performed emergency maintenance of County vehicles on the road. - Welded, cut and manufactured special tools or parts if not commercially available.
