This year, the head-waiter give me the responsibility of an restaurant’s area, which means: having a waiter assistant; making the cutlery arrangement on the table after the assistant finished cleaning; welcoming guests, giving them a table, explaining to the new customers the all inclusive system on which our restaurant was based. Maintaining a good atmosphere in the restaurant was also one of my responsibilities because we had visitors from different countries. Also the head waiter give me the opportunity of being his assistant in the all inclusive “a-la-carte” restaurant where I saw the difference between the two restaurants, preparing the tables for the “a-la-carte” dinner and I learned how to open and serve a bottle of wine and make service of the menu ordered by the customers.
In the first year a part of my job was cleaning tables and prepare them with clean table cloth for the next guests, welcoming guests, giving them a table, explaining to the new customers the all inclusive system on which our restaurant was based. At the end of the meal my job was to clean and prepare the table for the next meal with a different arrangement of cutlery and napkins. After each meal my duties included cleaning the floor with broom and a wet mop.
