Plan and construct the installation of electrical systems. • Coordination of maintenance schedule for electric systems and components. • Conduct tests to ensure compatibility and safety of components. • Maintenance, repair and replacement of electrical installations and equipment. • Operation and monitoring of the dynamic positioning system. • Define and execute projects of installing wires and connecting electrical components to motors, in agreement with/ as instructed by the Chief Electrician. • When pertaining electrical components, ensure that all electrical connections are in compliance with company regulations and requirements assigned by regulatory entities. • Manage regular preventive maintenance activities and perform repairs of any default in electrical equipment and systems as quickly as possible to prevent or minimize effects of breakdowns. • Train and supervise Assistant Electricians. • Assure electrical tools and equipment on board are kept in good condition and in proper as well as safe functioning (e.g. electrical lights, electrical components of motors, engines, transforming systems, air conditioning pumps, refrigeration systems, power generators, rectifiers and circuits, power distribution systems, networking drive control system, lightening fixtures, alarms, etc...). • Assure that the proper electrical parts, spares and equipment are on board, in discussion with the Chief Electrician. • Design the Preventive Maintenance System (PMS). • Plan, discuss and construct the installation and functioning of electrical systems. • Liaison with the team leaders of other departments (Rig Foreman, Tool pusher, Barge Engineer, Rig Mechanic and drill crew) for organising repairs and maintenance work. • Guarantee that permit to work systems is in place and followed. • Perform inspections and interpret power calculations, power factors, insulation tests, and positive relay tests as required. • Keep up equipment maintenance, electrician and preventative maintenance reports. Communicate results with respective parties on or off the rig. • Manage equipment inventory necessary for repairs and maintenance of electrical components.
•Ensure the continual functioning of all the electrical tools and equipment on board the drilling rig including, but not limited to, the kitchen equipment, heating and air condition equipment, washer and dryers, etc. to minimize the downtime of the rig. •Ensure regular preventative maintenance activities and special projects are completed as well as unscheduled maintenance and repairs involving the electrical lights and alarms, various electrical components and systems of motors, engines, generators and electrical tools are performed in a timely manner. • Responsible for own safety and conducting ones self to the standards of Weatherford Policies and Procedures. • Carry out all duties in the safest possible manner and ensure that personal protective equipment (PPE) is used correctly. • Supervise the activities of the Rig Welder and Motorman • Enact the planned maintenance program for rig and camp electrical equipment and instrumentation • Worked with the Driller and other crew members to ensure that the rig is operated in accordance within the design parameters and in conformance with all aspects of company’s policy. • Conduct visual and functional inspections of equipment both prior to use and at periodic intervals and in particular after rig moves and rig-up. • Responsible for planned maintenance, certification, record-keeping and reporting. • Maintain all required records, documentation and certification of electrical equipment on the rig and camp and produce accurate and timely reports on usage of such equipment. • Maintain and update all electrical drawings and wiring diagrams. • Ensure that lock-out and tag-out procedures are fully complied with at rig site and campsite. • Supervise the dismantling, packaging and preparation of electrical equipment for rig moves, including re-assembly at new locations. • Work with the other members of the rig crew to develop improved practices which will positively impact on rig performance. • Maintain, jointly with the Rig Mechanic, all rig instrumentation. • Manage, in conjunction with the Warehouseman, the inventory of spares and replacement parts for Electrical Equipment and initiate material requests and material transfers as required. • Maintain the cleanliness of the SCR house and integrity of the electrical control equipment therein. • Make recommendations for improved practices. • Prepare the rig and camp equipment for stacking out, when required, in accordance with the provisions of the RMS and contribute to preparation of the stack out report. • Make provisions for electrical supplies and instrumentation to meet third party service companies' requirements at rig site and provide emergency repairs to their equipment where possible. • Provide on-the-job training for Electrical Helpers. •Worked with Ross Hill SCR ,generators (399,3412,3408,3516, Caterpillar engines, Kato generators), different types of AC motors for the water pumps, mud agitators, mud super chargers, air compressors, blowers, also DC traction motors for the mud pumps, draw works , rotary tables and Canrig and Varco top drive. (Ross Hill & Graham Hill Control, General Electric equipments). National, Pyramid Oil well 1400 & 1700-PT, Mud Pumps, Draw works, and Rotary Table drive by GE 752 DC motor.
Responsibilities: •Putting into operation, calibrating, maintenance and repair of the electrical equipment of the plant. •Maintenance and repair of low and high voltage equipment. •Supervising the main power installation of the plant. •Install and repair various power and control distribution panels of all technological installations of the plant. •Earth bonding measuring and kept records of the earth bonding system. •Spark arrestor and lightning arrestor install and periodically checks according to planned maintenance. •Install of the cable trays, stands and supports for cables, routing various type of cables. •Install and revise power and control equipment and lighting system for new technological installation, distribution panels, plugs, receptacles, etc. •Install, maintenance and repair of HVAC system of the plant. •Install, wire, terminate, and test, electrical control panels, motors, variable frequency drives, and other components on plant installations. • Install, test, troubleshoot, and commission electro-hydraulic analog and digital PLC control systems on plant installations. • Provide routine, scheduled, and on-call service. • Troubleshoot and repair product failures and implement corrective actions. • Complete required service work documentation. • Maintain a safe work environment in accordance with company HSE standards and procedures.
