Bucharest (the biggest cable factory in Romania, belongs to VIOHALCO Group-Greece) Function-Head of Electrical Maintenance Department ICME ECAB is a modern factory with high performance machinery from different company like: Pourtier (France), Nextrom (Finland and Switzerland), Rosendahl (Austria), SAMP (Italy), Caballe (Spain), EFAF (Italy), Henrich (Germany), Troester ( Germany), Eurositech (Italy), Acmon Systems (Greece). Main Tasks: prepare technical specifications for electrical works; Keeps knowledge of new technologies and techniques in electrical systems or equipment; Defines technical data required for feasibility studies and in the analysis of the alternatives for new electrical system or equipment; Provides for the preparation of technical documents required in the preparation of electrical system; Checks the electrical system design prepared by consultants and contractors; Prepare internal requisitions for materials, equipment and machinery; Duties: new equipment’s commissioning, coordinate the electrical assembly of new equipment, modernize and optimize old machinery, keep the contact with suppliers, supervise the machine utilization and maintenance program (corrective and preventive). Since 2001 I was responsible for 22 electrical commissioning and more than 30 machine start-up. For planning and resources management we use SAP systems since 2002. In 2002 in this company we install and start-up one section for insulated panels with S.A.I.P. and Eurositech (Italy) equipment, and one PVC factory with equipment supplied by ACMON Systems Greece. In Nov. 2002 the Rubber Cables Section was included in factories modernization program. This program requires the complete replacement of electrical equipment for five productions lines with new components for a full automation. For this program I was designed Project Manager with following responsibilities: manage the project budget, designed electrical diagram, coordinate mechanical improvements, electrical execution and commissioning. For electrical panels design I use EPLAN software, and the Siemens S7 PLC was programmed with Simatic Manager. The communication protocol was Profibus. Also used : CT Net from Control Techniques. The improvement results are reflected in equipment productivity, so we was involved in “Power Cable” section modernization, where in 2004 we started two Rod breakdown lines (for cooper and aluminum), and we will continue with two Insulating and sheathing lines. In 2004 we started a Nokia line for extra-high voltage cables with the latest technology offered by Japan’s Furukawa Electric Company. In same period I start the substations modernization, which consist in replacement of old OROMAX switchgears with new switchgears from Mitsubishi.
