I helped to organise different events at my university (sports events, graduation ceremony, fundraising for some children from disadvantaged backgrounds, monthly meetings with the rest of the students from our university)
During this internship I run biochemical tests (for glycemia, HDL and LDL cholesterol, triglycerides, urea, uric acid, ALAT, GGT, ASAT, magnesium, calcium, iron) and immunologic tests (TSH, fT4, fT3), which served to make the right diagnosis for patients.
As a part of my final thesis, I had to detect the influence of certain magnetic nanoparticles and antibiotics on different bacterial strains(Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa).
The activities addressed specific psychosocial goals. The exercises were meant to conquer children's fear, improve self-esteem, establish familiarity with the medical procedures and surroundings. We tried to help children to cope with the emotionally distressing aspects of illness and the medical treatment.
